Where the Rope Ends

Pierce County Explorer Search and Rescue is presenting the featured documentary 'Where the Rope Ends' on April 27th 2024 at 1:00pm.

The film features Nichole Doane, a Seattle area trauma nurse who found herself suspended 100 feet above the ground after a rappelling error. It was in this terrifying moment that she had a profound mental transformation, which not only spared her life but also became her guiding light during the challenging journey of recovery following her harrowing fall.

The making of the film itself was a transformative 7-year journey, and tells the story not only of Doane’s long recovery, but also of the amazing local area Search and Rescue team that saved her.

Pierce County Explorer Search and Rescue is the main ground search and rescue unit in Pierce County. We assist local law enforcement in locating missing persons such as hikers, climbers, backpackers, children, and individuals affected by dementia, evidence related to a crime, and we respond to natural disasters and other catastrophic events. Pierce County Explorer Search and Rescue routinely responds to searches throughout Washington state.

Join us on April 27th for an afternoon of meeting the members of Pierce County Explorer Search and Rescue, watch the film, a chance at winning the 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction featuring items from many local companies!
